If you often feel that you are moving through the world as a shadow of your true self or a reflection of how others expect you to be, this is the perfect place to renew trust in your inner wisdom, begin embodying the confidence and love you deserve, and create the life you want to live!

My name is Iris Rose Chanterelle. I am the founder of Renaissance Wellness, a lover of beauty, human connection, sensual freedom, sustainable living, and a devotee of organic, earthy goodness! I am a writer, poet, longtime soul activist, and recovering people-pleaser, and I have journeyed through my own complex childhood and adult trauma and grief, slowly finding my way back to wholeness. Along the way, I discovered a passion for helping others who have walked similar paths. I retrained as a coach and facilitator in somatic modalities that helped me heal attachment wounds, transform trauma, find my unapologetic voice, and renew a deep love for myself and others, allowing me to offer a holistic approach to coaching through a trauma and nervous system informed lens, and my own innate understanding.

My ethos is creating safe spaces for everyone's lived and felt experience. I guide clients to befriend their emotions and sensations, be embodied and present in the moment, and understand their nervous system. This unique approach helps my clients rediscover their birthright of pleasure, sensuality, authenticity, love, awe & wonder, and somatic safety, empowering them to lead more fulfilling lives.

I also offer a compassionate and attuned presence for those dealing with grief and loss, be it the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or the loss of childhood innocence.

I live in Nova Scotia, on the Atlantic Coast of Canada, which I acknowledge as the unceeded and ancestral lands of the Mi'kmaq. I am a mom to two (nearly) adult children and one sweet little pup!

My Approach

My approach is gentle, slow, and about bringing awareness to the sensations that accompany emotions and thoughts. We can spend hours cognitively trying to change how we think and feel, only to have the same overwhelming sensations arise out of nowhere when we least expect it. I believe it’s essential to listen to the whole person and trust that we have an extraordinary ecosystem of parts and healing powers alive within—we just need a safe place to let it all unravel and be felt, seen and heard. Although I have a wide variety of tools and techniques we can use, our sessions are led by you—your body, your voice, your choice!

Body Sovereignty

To live in a sovereign body is to have agency and choice, which so many of us have not always had. Our sessions focus on creating a space where you feel safe and confident using your unique voice and expressing your individuality. This benefits your personal wellness and empowers you in your relationships, workplace, and home.

We are often unaware that many of our beliefs about ourselves, which have influenced how we exist in our bodies, are not ours. Open and honest dialogue and self-inquiry are potent practices, as are slowing down, being with sensation, and uncovering the truths held deep within our soma while releasing all the lies.

Slowly dismantling old stories and beliefs about ourselves while reorienting to sensation and pleasure allows for a gentle reawakening to the essence of love for ourselves, for others, and for our planet.

Re-wilding our Nervous System

Our Autonomic Nervous System has an extraordinary capacity to reorganize and regulate itself when it feels safe. It also alerts us to threat and danger and responds to cues of safety. It stores both trauma and tenderness and reaches out for connection just as often as it retreats.

When we've experienced trauma our nervous system often confuses safety with danger, past with present, and friend with foe, making neuroceptive judgments on how we will respond below our conscious awareness.

Slowing down and bringing in breath, touch, sound, and movement allows for re-wilding the nervous system—reconnecting with our instinctive, intuitive, natural capacities that have always been the centre of who we are. We are then able to ebb and flow with life again!
